A Honolulu man arrested at Hilo Airport today has been charged with yesterday's robbery of a Macy's department store at Prince Kuhio Plaza.

Jeremyal Bronson Leedy, 23, was charged with second-degree robbery and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail pending his initial appearance tomorrow at Hilo District Court.

Leedy has six prior convictions, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.

He is accused of stealing a watch after allegedly making a reference to shooting a Macy's employee although a weapon was not seen, police said.

Leedy was arrested at 10 a.m. today at the airport before boarding a flight to O'ahu.
