Police investigating Waianae infant's injuries

Advertiser Staff

Police yesterday opened a second-degree assault investigation into serious injuries suffered by a 7-month-old Wai'anae boy.

The infant taken to a hospital Saturday at 8:30 p.m. has been diagnosed with acute subdural hemorrhages and bilateral retinal hemorrhaging usually found in shaken baby syndrome cases.

The hemorrhaging is in an area between the infant's brain and the brain's outer lining.

As of today, no arrests have been made.
