State offers live web cast of Superferry Kauai meeting

Advertiser Staff

The meeting Gov. Linda Lingle will hold with Kaua'i residents tonight to answer their questions prior to resumption of Hawaii Superferry service to Nawiliwili Harbor will be web cast live on the Internet at http://govsvr1.hawaii.gov/govlive/.

The meeting will take place from 6 to 9:30 p.m. at the Kaua'i War Memorial Convention Hall.

The governor, state and federal officials will first discuss the steps being taken by law enforcement agencies to allow the Superferry to safely enter and depart the harbor, while providing a safe place for protesters to demonstrate. They will also outline the state and federal penalties for violating the temporary security zone or obstructing the operations of law enforcement officials, according to a news release issued today.

The public will have an opportunity to ask questions about the temporary security measures.
