Scheduling conflict canceled Aerosmith's Maui concert

The publicity company for Aerosmith today gave an official reason for the cancellation of the band's Maui concert: scheduling conflicts.

A press release from the Mitch Schneider Organization blamed the Maui concert cancellation on the rescheduling of a postponed Chicago show on Aerosmith's tour to Sept. 24. The new date, according to the release, made it logistically difficult for the band's equipment to reach Maui in time for the Sept. 26 concert.

"The band would like to apologize for this inconvenience to their fans," the release stated.

Aerosmith's concert at Chicago's Allstate Arena was originally scheduled for Sept. 10, but was postponed because of the illness of a band member.

The band's near-sellout show at Maui War Memorial Stadium was canceled yesterday without an immediate explanation from Aerosmith.
