Aloha Festivals drops Guinness effort; hula line still on

Advertiser Staff

The Aloha Festivals has dropped a plan to attempt a new Guinness Book of World Records title for "Largest Hula Dance."

Organizers, however, are still inviting people to participate in what is now being called "The Aloha Festivals' Longest Hula Line" at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Waikiki area. This hula line will be part of the 55th anniversary of Aloha Festivals' Annual Waikiki Ho'olaule'a.

Participants will dance to "Waikiki," recorded by Na Leo Pilimehana, and "Aloha Week Hula," recorded by Nathan Aweau.

Registration forms are available at the Aloha Festivals office at Ward Warehouse, above Nohea Gallery, or go to www.alohafestivals.com for a form. For more information, contact Iwalani Tseu at 953-0555 or e-mail iwalanihula1@yahoo.com.
