Star Simpson's academic, athletic career

Star Anna Simpson, now a sophomore at MIT, attended Hawai'i Preparatory Academy on the Big Island where she was a star athlete and student.

High School: Hawai'i Preparatory Academy on the Big Island

College: Attends MIT, where she is secretary of the Electrical Research Society.

High School Academic Honors: Inducted into Hawai'i Prep's Cum Laude academic honors society in junior year; Graduated with honors in 2006; Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Foundation scholarship; Hiatt College Scholarship for community service in 2005/2006 school year; Alumni association prize as a junior; Junior science scholar; Congressional citation for her work in robotics, according to her lawyer.

Athletic Honors: Holds Hawai'i Prep records for 50-yard swim (24:40) and 100-yard swim, (54:06); Medaled at Hawai'i state swim championships;

Extracurricular High School Activities: Captain of robotics team; Founded Hawai'i Prep's chess club as a freshman; Relay For Life captain for grades 9-12.
