High surf advisory in effect for east-facing shores

Surf along east-facing shores will be 5 to 8 feet through today, resulting in a high-surf advisory, accordong to the national Weather Service.

Surf along south-facing shores will lower to heights of 3 to 5 feet today, forecasters said.

Surf along west-facing shores will be 2 to 4 feet.

Surf along north facing shores will be on the rise today, reaching heights of 6 to 8 feet today.

The new northwest swell will slowly lower over the weekend. Another small northwest swell is expected to arrive by late Wednesday. A series of small south swell is expected through the period. Surf along east-facing shores will gradually lower over the weekend.
