Cyanotech reports revenues up, wider loss

Kona-based microalgae company Cyanotech Corp. today said first quarter sales rose to $2.6 million, from $2.4 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2007.The company lost $382,000, or 7 cents a share, in the quarter ended June 30, 2008, compared with a net loss of $347,000, or 7 cents a share, in the year-ago quarter.
Cyanotech shares closed down 6 cents at 80 cents today.
