Renovated Hotel Lanai gears up for reopening

News Release

Hotel Lana'i, the plantation-style hotel overlooking the green in Lana'i City, has undergone a thorough renovation and will reopen the first week of October. A reopening celebration weekend for the longtime local favorite and the first hotel on the island, is planned for Oct. 12-14 and the newly renamed restaurant, the Lana'i City Grille, will open Oct. 12.

The eatery will be under the direction of award-winning chef Beverly Gannon, owner of two Maui culinary landmarks, Hali'imaile General Store and Joe's in Wailea. A four-course dinner, prepared by Gannon, will be served on Oct. 12. (Tickets: four courses, with wine, $95; all proceeds benefit Lana'i High.)

The following two days, Oct. 13 and 14, is "Lana'i-Tai Weekend," with discounted meals, special drinks and live music.

The 74-year-old hotel has 10 rooms and an adjacent cottage.

Rates: $139–229.
