Preps: Herring tabbed as fifth-best recruit in nation

Kamehameha outside hitter and reigning Advertiser Player of the Year Kanani Herring is No. 5 on PrepVolleyball.com's list of the Top 100 Senior Aces.The 5-foot-10 outside hitter has committed to play for the University of Hawai'i. The top 30 recruits were released today.
"While her athletic presence at the net is impressive, where her blazing first step, 10-3 leap and complete array of shots make her impossible to contain — many marvel at her tremendous backcourt capabilities and fierce defense," the site said.
Earlier, the site ranked Punahou libero Sydney Yogi as No. 51. Sogi has committed to Texas.
Also, Kamehameha (8-1) dropped from third to 10th on PrepVolleyball.com's national poll. The Warriors, ranked first in the Advertiser's poll, lost 22-25, 25-21, 25-19 to No. 2 'Iolani on Tuesday.
The Raiders (9-0) moved up from No. 47 to No. 35 in the national poll. Local teams listed on the bubble were Kahuku, Moanalua, Punahou and Roosevelt.
