  • "THE BASICS OF SELLING ON eBAY," a seminar providing new users the tools to be a successful seller on eBay, will be offered 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday by the Hawai'i Women's Business Center. The speaker is Marilyn Paguirigan, a "power seller" trained by eBay. The event is scheduled in HWBC headquarters, 1041 Nu'uanu Ave., Suite a. Fee; non-members welcome.   • The what, when and where of filing business taxes will be the focus of a daylong, comprehensive "State and Federal Tax Procedure Workshop," sponsored by the Hawai'i Women's Business Center: 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Sept. 29, at 1041 Nu'uanu Ave. Required preregistration; noncenter members welcome: 526-1001.

  • The Office of Economic Development and the Maui Film Office will hold a discussion of the incentives and tax credits for the local film industry at 6 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Iao Theatre in Wailuku. Donne Dawson, Hawai'i state film commissioner, and Joseph B. Tichy, administrative specialist for the state Department of Taxation will explain the nuts and bolts of Act 88, the Motion Picture Digital Media and Film Production Tax Credit and Act 221/215, the High Technology Business Investment Tax Credit. The discussion will be moderated by Benita Brazier, Maui film commissioner. The seminar is the first in a fall series to be presented by the Maui Film Office. Subsequent seminars will include discussions on the Screen Actors Guild, film financing, film distribution and producing. This event is free of charge.
