Advertiser Staff

Surf along east-facing shores will be 5 to 8 feet through this morning, resulting in a high-surf advisory, but is expected to decrease to heights of 4 to 7 feet later this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Surf along south- and west-facing shores will be 3 to 5 feet through today, while surf along north-facing shores will be up to 8 feet early this morning before backing down to 4 to 6 feet later in the day, forecasters said.

The northwest swell will gradually diminish tomorrow. Surf along east-facing shores will slowly lower over the weekend. A series of small background south swells will persist from Sunday through mid-week. A new northwest swell arriving late Wednesday will continue through Thursday.
