Sure, there are lions and pageantry in "The Lion King" at the Blaisdell Concert Hall. But there are three kinds of dragons and pageantry of a different sort in "Kraken-Ka, the Komodo Dragon, and Other Pacific Rim Dragon Tales," at the Kennedy Theatre at the University of Hawai'i-Manoa. The family-friendly production is based on the book "Kraken-Ka the Komodo Dragon," written by Tamara Montgomery (who also directs the show) and Jodi Parry Belknap, with illustrations by Joseph D. Dodd.
