Search suspended for kayakers off Diamond Head

The Coast Guard today suspended its search for possible occupants of a three-person kayak found drifting in waters about two miles off Diamond Head yesterday at about 2 p.m.Lt. Kenneth Cutler said the Coast Guard has not heard from anyone missing a kayak or missing kayakers.
"The search is suspended but the case is still open," Cutler said. "We're very interested in finding the owner to close the case."
The Coast Guard unsuccessfully checked local retailers of the 12-foot Ocean Kayak model with hopes of locating an owner.
