Team Bradley wins Na Wahine O Ke Kai

Team Bradley won the Na Wahine O Ke Kai for the third consecutive year today, nearly setting a record in the process.

Team Bradley completed the 41-mile course from Hale O Lono Harbor, Molokai, to Duke Kahanamoku Beach, Waikiki, in 5 hours, 22 minutes, 14 seconds. It was two seconds shy of the course record.

Team Australia placed second in 5:24:27, followed by Team Wahoo's in third at 5:28:34, Hui Lanakila in fourth at 5:29:01, and Waikiki Beachboys in fifth at 5:38:29.

A record 83 crews participated in the race, which is considered the world championship of long-distance canoe paddling for women's teams.

Team Bradley trailed Team Australia for most of the race, but took the lead for good off Black Point, Oahu.

Team Bradley features elite paddlers from O'ahu, Maui, Kauai, the Big Island and Australia.
