Niu Valley man questioned about hit-and-run

A 49-year-old Niu Valley man yesterday was arrested for questioning about Thursday night's hit-and-run accident on Sand Island Access Road involving critical injuries to a male bicyclist.The collision near Auiki Street was reported to police at about 9:45 p.m.
The bicyclist was struck by a white truck, possibly with a camper roof. The injured man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center. No update on his condition was available today.
The Niu Valley man was arrested at the main police station for two first-degree traffic-related felony offenses at 1:10 p.m. and released pending further investigation an hour later.
