Hilton Hawaiian Village awards scholarships to 4 at UH

HONOLULU - The Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa has awarded four University of Hawai'i students with scholarships. The annual program selects students based on their grade-point average, test scores, and written submissions. To be eligible for the scholarship, the students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, have full-time status at their college/university and one of their parents must be a regular, full-time employee by a Hilton Hotels Corporation owned and managed property.

The University of Hawai'i student scholarship recipients are:

i Dyan Bautista, a freshman at Kapi'olani Community College;

i Marjorie Bocalbos, a sophomore at UH Manoa;

i Patricia Hu, a sophomore at UH Manoa; and

i Farrah Truong, a junior at UH Manoa.

"These fine young men and women are part of our 'ohana too, and it's our honor to be able to recognize their extraordinary achievements, and help them continue realizing their dreams," said Noel G. Trainor, general manager, Hilton Hawaiian Village.

The scholarships range between $1,000 and $2,000 per student.
