Ballet Hawaii sets 'Nutcracker' Blaisdell dates

Ballet Hawai's festive "Nutcracker," a holiday tradition in Honolulu, will be staged at 8 p.m. Dec. 21, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 22 and 2 p.m. Dec. 23 at Blaisdell Concert Hall.

The production, directed by Pamela Taylor-Tongg, will feature New York City Ballet's Joaquin De Luz and Megan Fairchild, along with other guest artists and ensemble dancers from Ballet Hawaii.

The Honolulu Symphony will provide live accompaniment.

Tickets are $25 to $75, on sale at Ticketmaster locations, including Times Supermarket locations and the Blaisdell box office. For reservations, call 877-750-4400 or go to www.ticketmaster.com. Tickets are expected to go on sale next month.

For opening night, a $125 package includes a buffet dinner by Honolulu specialty chefs, premium seating and an intermission champagne and dessert reception. Call 521-8600 for details.

"Nutcracker" also will be staged on Maui, at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 and 2 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center. Tickets — $25 to $45 — go on sale Oct. 6 at the MACC box office, 808-242-7469.
