Hawai'i coffee revenue falls on decline in production
Advertiser Staff
Hawaii's coffee farm revenue totaled $37 million in the 2006-2007 season, a 1 percent decline from a year earlier, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The drop was primarily the result of production declining by 10 percent while prices rose.
The USDA said production decreased 31 percent on the Big Island, but that some of this decline was offset by higher activity elsewhere in the state.
