Kailua man facing gun theft, drug charges

A 19-year-old Kailua man arrested yesterday for allegedly stealing his mother's registered gun was still being held tonight at 10 o'clock at the Honolulu Police Department's main station cellblock.The man is under investigation for first-degree theft, third-degree promotion of a dangerous drug and third-degree promotion of a detrimental drug.
Police must release him by 3 p.m. tomorrow if he is not charged.
