Maui County Fair to affect traffic, city services

WAILUKU — The Maui County Fair will affect traffic and also the hours of county offices at War Memorial Gymnasium, The Maui News reported.

The fair will take place Thursday through Sunday.

The county offices will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Offices affected will include Land Use and Codes, and the Parks and Recreation Department's permit office, aquatics division, planning and development, maintenance division and administrative offices.

The Coach Sakamoto swimming pool will close Thursday at 3 p.m. and remain closed through the weekend.

Halia-Nakoa Street will remain closed to traffic until Oct. 5, with one-way traffic from Kanaloa Avenue to Baldwin High School resuming Oct. 13.

The War Memorial Gym parking lot also will remain closed until Oct. 12 for breakdown of the fair.
