Cause of August Wilhelmina Rise fire was accidental

An Aug. 27 fire that destroyed two homes in Wilhelmina Rise started in the laundry room of a house at 3802 Mariposa Drive but investigators have been unable to pinpoint the cause, it was announced today by Honolulu Fire Department spokesman Capt. Terry Seelig.Investigators said the cause, however, is accidental, said Seelig.
Three people escaped injury from the home at 3802 Mariposa Drive and no one was at home in the two-story house above it on Monterey Drive, which was also destroyed.
