Transit input sought from Waipahu community

Advertiser Staff

Waipahu residents, businesses and community leaders are being asked to take part tonight in the first public workshop on the Waipahu Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Neighborhood Plan.

City officials will be asking those in attendance what kind of development they want around the fixed guideway transit station in their community. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Waipahu Intermediate School. It is the second in a series of neighborhood meetings on shaping development around the transit stations. The first was held at Leeward Community College on July 14.

Two stations are planned for Waipahu: one at the Farrington Highway/Leoku Street intersection, and the other close to the Farrington Highway/Mokuola Street intersection.
