Honolulu police to name new assistant chief tomorrow

The Honolulu Police Department is expected to announce the promotion of Maj. Kevin Lima to the rank of assistant chief at its weekly command meeting tomorrow.

Lima currently commands HPD's Narcotics/Vice Division. He will fill the vacancy left by the recent promotion of Michael Tucker to deputy chief.

Police Chief Boisse Correa administration includes deputies Paul Putzulu and Tucker, and assistant chiefs Delbert Tatsuyama, Michael Tamashiro, Karl Godsey, Bryan Wauke and John Kerr.

HPD will also announce the promotion of Carlton Nishimura to the rank of major. Nishimura most recently served as the executive officer in the Information Technology Division.
