Italian Film Festival starts tomorrow

The 4th annual Cinema Italiano Film Festival — a series of new and classic Italian films — kicks off tomorrow and runs through Oct. 2. at the Doris Duke Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts.

The University of Hawai'i's Academy for Creative Media will be honored at the festival with the establishment of a "Future Filmmaker Award" fund.

The schedule includes:

8 p.m. tomorrow, 1 p.m. Friday: "Nuovomondo" (New World)

7:30 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. Saturday: "Uno Su Due" (Life in the Balance)

7:30 p.m. Saturday, 1 p.m. Sunday: "Anche Libero Va Bene" (Along the Ridge)

7:30 p.m. Sunday: "Mafioso"
