Another state office building gets Energy Star status
Advertiser Staff
Another state office building has been awarded Energy Star status by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. To qualify, buildings must show superior energy efficiency and must be verified to meet indoor environmental standards. The Energy Star awards are good for a year, and a building must be evaluated and an application submitted annually to retain that status.
The newest building on the list is the Hilo State Office building on the Big Island. Other Energy Star buildings are the State Office Tower, Kapolei Office Building, and the Abner Paki Hale Courthouse in Kane'ohe.
The buildings are managed by the state Department of Accounting and General Services.
