CD release concert to include hula presentation

With the release of his new CD, "Moea: Onward," kumu hula Blaine Kia will present a concert with the Ladies of Halau Ka Waikahe Lani Malie and the Men of Halau Kahulaliwa at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Pearl City Cultural Center.The hoike will include a trilogy of hula conceived by Kia that pays homage to the past, the present and the future. The evening will tap male, women and keiki hula in both kahiko (ancient) and 'auana (modern) forms.
Tickets are $20, available at the box office from 6 p.m. on concert day, or in advance at Native Books/Na Mea Hawaii at Ward Warehouse, or by phone at 596-8885.
