Beyond the Blues music festival set for Oct. 6

Mental Health America of Hawaii's seventh annual "Beyond the Blues" music festival has been set for Oct. 6 at Ala Moana Shopping Center.

The CenterStage event will feature performances from local blues musicians Floyd Edward Harrison and the Chosen Few, Downtown Charley and the Humbones, Coconut Joe and Jeff Said No! Representatives from community mental health organizations will also be on hand to provide education materials about their programs, and information on mental health-related topics.

Steve Stoddard, host of KTUH-FM's "Somethin' Blue" radio program and KIPO-FM's "Special Edition Blues Review" will serve as master of ceremonies.

Performances start at 10 a.m. The festival ends at 2 p.m.
