No Hawaii tsunami threat from 6.9 New Guinea quake

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center has issued a bulletin stating there is no threat of a tsunami for Hawai'i following a 6.9-magnitude earthquake in the New Ireland region of Papua New Guinea at 2:36 a.m. today.

The earthquake struck 5 miles south and 153.2 miles east of the New Ireland Papua New Guinea region at a depth of about 20 miles.
