Motorists, take heed: Century Bike Ride is Sunday

Advertiser Staff

The Hawai'i Bicycling League's Century Bike Ride will be held Sunday, with cyclists traveling through Hawai'i Kai on their way from Kapi'olani Park to Kailua and back.

Honolulu's Century Ride, Hawai'i's oldest and largest cycling event, was established in 1981 and begins and ends at Kapi'olani Park.

While no road closures are planned during the bulk of the ride, one lane on each side of Kalaniana'ole Highway will be coned off for cyclists from 6 to 9:30 a.m.

Motorists should anticipate delays, especially along Kalaniana'ole Highway where police officers will be on hand to guide traffic at West and East Halemaumau.
