Tests several days after the game revealed the injury, and Thomas sat out last week's loss to the New York Jets. He practiced on a limited basis for the second day in a row today, and coach Cam Cameron hasn't said whether Thomas will play Sunday against Oakland.

"He's coming along nicely," Cameron said today.

Thomas played every snap in Miami's Sept. 16 loss to the Dallas Cowboys. He said he could feel the concussion early in the game and felt lightheaded after the game.

"Maybe I should have taken myself out of the game early on, but that's not me," Thomas said. "It did happen early. I wanted to stay in. It didn't affect my play, just made me real sleepy, and I knew I had one."

After the game, Thomas complained of a migraine and underwent tests. The concussion forced him to sit out last Sunday's loss to the New York Jets.

"You know when you catch one, because you're really energized, and next thing you know you really can't sit on the bench or you want to fall asleep," Thomas said. "That's where everything goes from HD to regular TV — and that's the truth."

Thomas has fought migraine and concussion problems in the past. He said he would like to play against the Raiders, but would follow doctors' orders.

"If it's an ankle or it's a knee or something like that, you can kind of fight through it," he said. "But when you're messing with your head, it messes with a lot of things."

Thomas has missed only 14 games in his 12 years in the league. He led Miami in tackles 10 times in his first 11 seasons and has started more games for the Dolphins than any defensive player in history.
