Graffiti cleanup tomorrow in McCully and Moiliili areas

Advertiser Staff

Volunteers will be painting over graffiti, removing stickers and picking up trash tomorrow morning in the McCully and Mo'ili'ili neighborhoods.

The effort, set for 8 a.m. to noon, is organized by T.A.G. — Totally Against Graffiti — Team, an informal partnership of residents, businesses, nonprofit groups and law enforcement agencies committed to eradicating graffiti from the McCully and Mo'ili'ili neighborhoods. Also helping to organize the event: Old Town Mo'ili'ili Business Association and the University of Hawai'i at Manoa.

Volunteers are asked to gather at Kuhio Elementary School, 2759 S. King St. (across from the Humane Society) at 8 a.m. There they will be provided with supplies and given instructions. Teams will fan out into the community at selected public sites where taggers have left their mark with graffiti and stickers. A trolley will be available to transport volunteers to work sites.

More than 200 volunteers are expected to help with the cleanup.
