Sullivan out in fourth round of Quiksilver Pro France

Pancho Sullivan of Sunset Beach was eliminated in the fourth round of the Quiksilver Pro France men's surfing contest today.

The fourth round and quarterfinals were run today in 3- to 4-foot waves at Hossegor, France.

South Africa's Greg Emslie defeated Sullivan, 14.5-9.16. Emslie received a score of 8.33 midway through the 30-minute heat to give him a lead he would not relinquish.

Sullivan was the last Hawaii surfer remaining in the contest.

Emslie also won his quarterfinal heat to advanced to the semifinals.

Australia's Mick Fanning, who is currently ranked No. 1 in the world, also advanced to the semifinals.
