Repaving of westbound Ala Moana lanes begins Monday

Advertiser Staff

Crews will start repaving the westbound lanes of Ala Moana Boulevard on Monday, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Repaving will continue through Oct. 5.

The repaving work extends on Ala Moana from Punchbowl to Fort streets. It is part of a $12.5 million project to repave Ala Moana from Fort to Pi'ikoi streets.

Drivers should expect multiple lane closures in the westbound direction and allow for extra travel time.

The state hopes to have all lanes of Ala Moana from Fort Street to Ward Avenue repaved by Thanksgiving.

For more information on the project or the latest lane closures, go to the state Department of Transportation Web site www.state.hi.us/dot.
