Emergency siren test scheduled for Monday

Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i state Civil Defense officials said a monthly test of the statewide outdoor warning system is scheduled for 11:45 a.m. Monday.

The siren test will involve the sounding of a steady, 45-second tone on all sirens.

Besides natural hazards including tsunamis, the Emergency Alert System can be used to warn the public of terrorist incidents or acts of war, civil defense officials said.
