A 42-year-old man was charged Friday in connection with the Sept. 15 armed robbery of Hallmark Jewelers at Ala Moana Center.

Aaron Charles McGuire, who was arrested Wednesday at his Birch Street residence, is accused of first-degree robbery. His bail is $100,000.

McGuire has 14 prior convictions between November 1989 and January 2006, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.

A woman, 26, arrested with McGuire for first-degree hindering prosecution was released pending further investigation.

According to police, Hallmark Jewelers was robbed at about 8 p.m. by a man who allegedly showed a male employee, 42, the butt of a handgun tucked in his waist and fled with high-priced items he had been looking at the counter.

McGuire was identified by surveillance tapes and a photographic lineup, police said.
