The Louis Vuitton Hawaii International Film Festival is quickly approaching, and Lee Jun Ki, star of the hit Korean film "King and the Clown," will be the big-star presence this year.

"King and the Clown," South Korea's top box-office hit until "The Host" usurped it as No. 1 a year later, is in the upcoming festival's lineup. The period piece with a gay theme drew more than 12 million moviegoers in South Korea.

Rain never made it to Hawai'i for his concert in June, but you can see him in his latest film, "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK." At the 2007 Berlin Film Festival, "Cyborg," directed by Park Chan Wook, was nominated for the Golden Bear Award and won the Alfred Bauer Award. At South Korea's 2007 Beak Sang Art Awards, Rain won the award for best new actor for his "Cyborg" role.

Now to small-screen news: KLIFE (channel 81 on digital Oceanic Cable) is adding more Korean dramas and movies to its list of choices. Next month, look for the series "My Girl," "Heaven's Tree" and the classic hit "All In," starring Lee Byung Hun. Translated and subtitled by KBFD, "All In" is a KLIFE exclusive.

The cultural program "Tae Kwon Do" will also be available on KLIFE in October. Tae kwon do is a Korean martial art that dates back to the Three Kingdom periods: Koguryeo, Silla and Baekje. Tae kwon do, along with judo, is one of the two Asian martial arts in the Olympic Games.
