Charges pending in Waipahu machete threat

Charges are pending against a man who allegedly threatened three women with a machete early today in Waipahu.

The man, who listed no permanent local address at booking, was arrested on three counts of first-degree terroristic threatening. The three women, ages 45, 37 and 48, were not injured.

The suspect, 43, is the ex-boyfriend of the 45-year-old woman, police said. The man confronted the three women at 1:45 a.m. and fled on a bicycle after allegedly threatening them with the machete.

Police arrested the suspect fronting 94-766 Kamehameha Highway at 2:54 a.m. He is also being held on an outstanding $300 warrant.

The suspect has 27 convictions, according to Hawai'i Criminal Justice Data Center records.
