TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"American Idol," 7 p.m., Fox. Dolly Parton, a brilliant songwriter, is the first mentor. There are nine people left to work with her. Last week, Chikezie — a good singer and a vibrantly likable person — was ousted.

"The Biggest Loser," 7 p.m., NBC. The final five people visit Australia.

"NCIS," 7 p.m., CBS. The team searches for a missing survivalist, while caring for his 9-year-old son.

"The Riches," 7 p.m., FX. Wayne's grand scam — posing as lawyer Doug Rich — is crumbling. His son was arrested, his wife is terrified, his boss has a giant midlife crisis and now a killer ex-con has arrived. The ex-con is played with scary zest by Jared Harris, son of the late Richard Harris.

"Hell's Kitchen" season opener, 8 p.m., Fox. The lone surprise comes early, with Gordon Ramsay disguising himself as a contestant and overhearing the others. After that, it's the same old show. Ramsay again claims everything tastes terrible; viewers have no idea if he's right. Ramsay screams things that are loud, without being clever. Then he shuts the restaurant without serving a full meal.

"CSI: Miami," 9 p.m., CBS. A two-parter concludes, with Horatio facing murder charges in Brazil.
