City lifeguards found more than 400 box jellyfish in Waikiki yesterday, and lifeguards treated 52 people for stings as of 3 p.m., said Bryan Cheplic, spokesman for Emergency Services.

No jellyfish were reported on the west side of O'ahu, Cheplic said.

The monthly influx was at its peak yesterday, and will continue today. Oceangoers, particularly on south and west beaches, are advised to use caution if entering the water.

SUPERFERRY TAKING RESERVATIONS AGAIN

Hawaii Superferry has resumed taking reservations for April 23 sailings and beyond.

Superferry officials posted a status update at www.hawaiisu perferry.com stating that maintenance work and repairs to the Alakai have been completed.

The ferry had been in drydock for several weeks for maintenance work.
