Waipahu fire intentionally set

Advertiser Staff

A fire that gutted an abandoned gas station building on Waipahu Street last night was intentionally set, according to Honolulu Fire Department investigators.

The 10 p.m. fire on the 94-1100 block of Waipahu Street caused an estimated $120,000 damage to the structure, said HFD spokesman Capt. Earle Kealoha.

No one was injured.

The case has been turned over to police for criminal investigation.
