ATA Airlines carried more than 1 million passengers between Hawai'i and the Mainland last year, according to U.S. Department of Transportation statistics.

The carrier's biggest markets were between Chicago and other Mainland cities, followed by Hawai'i routes, the data show. ATA also was one of the bigger carriers at Honolulu and Kahului airports. The DOT reported ATA accounted for 4.49 percent of all domestic passengers flying to and from Honolulu and 6.74 percent flying to and from Kahului.
