Hawaiian hiring

Hawaiian Airlines said yesterday it has immediate openings for 12 pilots, 35 flight attendants and seven mechanics that are needed to accommodate its expanded flight schedule in response to Aloha Airlines' closure.

Hawaiian added 6,000 seats to its daily interisland schedule following Aloha's closure on Monday. Aloha had been flying 11,000 to 13,000 seats daily with about 1,000 of those on flights to the Mainland.

Hawaiian said it is accepting applications online at www.hawaiianair.com.

"This is only the first step in what we hope will be many more announcements regarding employment opportunities at Hawaiian Airlines," said Hawaiian CEO Mark Dunkerley in a news release.
