Waipahu street, H-1 lanes to close

Advertiser Staff

Motorists are advised that lanes along Paiwa Street and H-1 Freeway in the Waipahu area will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. for pavement resurfacing starting Sunday. Specifically:

  • Sunday, the two far right westbound lanes of H-1 from the vicinity of the Waikele/Waipahu off-ramp (Exit 7) to the Military Access Road overpass. During these hours, the westbound H-1 on-ramp from Paiwa Street will also be closed. Westbound motorists are advised to use the next available H-1 on-ramp at Kunia Road and surface streets such as Farrington Highway or Waipahu Street as alternative routes.

  • Monday, the left-most lanes on Paiwa in both directions, between Hiapo Street and the Waikele Premium Outlets mall.

  • Tuesday, both northbound lanes on Paiwa between Hiapo and Lumi'aina Street. North-bound traffic will be contraflowed using one south-bound lane.

  • Wednesday, both south-bound lanes on Paiwa Street between Lumi'aina and Hiapo. South-bound traffic will be contraflowed using one northbound lane.

  • Thursday, the far right lane on Paiwa in the southbound direction will be closed. During these hours, the westbound H-1 on-ramp from Paiwa will also be closed. Westbound motorists are advised to use the next available H-1 on-ramp at Kunia Road and surface streets such as Farrington Highway or Waipahu Street as alternative routes.
