Sheraton Hawaii Bowl returns to Christmas Eve

Advertiser Staff

The Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl will be held on Dec. 24 this year, and will feature teams from the Pac-10 and Western Athletic Conference.

Kickoff will be at 3 p.m.

The University of Hawai'i will be eligible for the Hawai'i Bowl if it wins at least seven games this season. The game will be televised on one of the ESPN channels.

"We are pleased to return to our Christmas Eve tradition," Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl Executive Director David Matlin said. "We're very excited about the Pac-10 vs. WAC matchup, and look forward to ESPN featuring two quality teams in a prime time slot on national television."

This will be the fourth time the Hawai'i Bowl will be played on Christmas Eve, and the first time since 2006 when its largest crowd of 40,623 watched Hawai'i defeat Arizona State, 41-24.

Individual tickets will go on sale to the general public on July 28. Corporate tickets are on sale now by calling (808) 523-3688.
