By Wayne Harada
Advertiser entertainment writer

The Gospel Music Channel, a cable TV network, is searching for the next gospel-Christian music superstar. Auditions will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at a GMC tent pitched at the Wal-Mart in Mililani, at 95-550 Lanikuhana Ave.

Solo performers, ages 18 to 40, may compete in "Gospel Dream 2008." Other activities include karaoke-style singing, games, activities and prizes.

The day's best singer will win a trip for two to Atlanta to audition for "Gospel Dream" judges. Finalists will compete June 28 in Nashville, Tenn. In Hawai'i, the show is available to DirectTV customers.
