"Keiki Stars at the 50th State Fair," a tot-sized singing contest where 50 children will vie for a $1,000 cash prize, will be part of this year's 50th State Fair.

E.K. Fernandez Shows is teaming up with Hawaii Stars Presents Inc., the producers of TV's "Hawaii Stars" competition, to tape the finals of the contest June 22 during the run of the annual state fair, for a show to air later on KHON2.

Applications are now being accepted from children 5 through12, with weekend preliminaries set for May 25, June 1, 8 and 15. Prelim winners advance to the finales.
