NATIONAL TROPICAL BOTANICAL GARDEN

National Tropical Botanical Garden has promoted Guy Nakashima to director of foundation and government relations. He will be responsible for securing grant funding for the institution.

Also promoted was Milani Pimental, from assistant director of development to director of annual giving. She will be responsible for increasing annual and major gift support, managing the local membership campaign, overseeing development office operations and coordinating fundraising events.

National Tropical Botanical Garden is devoted to saving tropical plants through conservation, scientific research and education.

XEROX HAWAII

Xerox Hawaii has appointed David Begley marketing representative. Previously, Begley was a commercial account executive for Oceanic Time Warner Cable Business Class.

PROSERVICE HAWAII

ProService Hawaii, provider of an array of employee administration services, has hired the following people: Sabina McKinley, re-employment specialist in charge of unemployment insurance claims; Matthew Skeele, health insurance services coordinator; and Sharnelle Tomita, associate corporate counsel.

RESORT ASSOCIATION PARTNERS

Tracy Leverone is the new projects manager of Resort Association Partners at Mauna Lani Resort. She will be the primary community liaison for Mauna Lani Resort's Community Design Committee, which is responsible for overseeing resortwide design standards and architectural review.

HAWAIIAN EYE CENTER

The Hawaiian Eye Center has promoted Joey Lucas at its Wahiawa office and hired Karen Amicone at its Hilo office. Lucas, formerly a patient services representative, will be patient services supervisor. Amicone will be a certified ophthalmic assistant. She was formerly a certified surgical assistant.

THE QUEEN'S MEDICAL CENTER

The Queen's Medical Center has hired psychiatrist Celia Ona, M.D., and internist Jorge Samaniego, M.D. Ona will see patients at Queen's Cancer Center and the Women's Health Center. She is director of the Mood Disorder and Interventional Psychiatry Program in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine.
