House leaders to visit Hamakua, hear concerns

State House leaders will visit the Hamakua Coast this week to listen to residents' concerns as lawmakers head into the final stretch of this year's session at the Legislature.

Rep. Dwight Takamine, D-1st (Kohala, Hamakua, N. Hilo) will host the "Lawmakers Listen" session Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the Honoka'a High School cafeteria.

Lawmakers expected to attend the session include House Consumer Protection and Commerce Committee Chairman Bob Herkes, Finance Chairman Marcus Oshiro, and Higher Education Committee Chairman Jerry Chang.
