Waimalu pool hall robbery suspect arrested

Advertiser Staff

Police last night arrested a 30-year-old man for questioning about last Thursday's early morning takeover robbery of a pool hall in Waimalu.

The suspect was arrested at 11:45 p.m. on Imina Place in Mililani and booked for first-degree robbery in connection with the 2:15 a.m. holdup at Aiea Cue, located on the second floor of a building at 98-064 Kamehameha Highway.

Cash was stolen from an ATM and change machine at Aiea Cue. Three masked men reportedly entered Aiea Cue and forced occupants into another room before breaking into the two machines. No injuries were reported.

Police suspect the Aiea Cue incident is connected to three ATM break-ins in Waipi'o and Pearl City which sandwiched the Aiea Cue robbery, and another ATM break-in April 1 in 'Aiea. All the ATMs involved belong to either a credit union or Halawa-based company.

There are also reports of at least two other ATM break-ins the past two nights.
